These four lovely girls tried very hard to demonstrate the different types of Pomeranians that can be found on the market. All of these girls are registered in The Kennel Club.

The first type is an older standard of Pomeranian popular in the 1970’s. These dogs closely resemble the Pomeranians of the Victorian era. The height of these dogs exceeds the modern standard (this girl is 24cm, but they can be even larger). They have a fox-type muzzle, their forelegs are not well-feathered, and they have short fur between their ears which makes their ears look bigger.

The second type corresponds in height to the modern standard of 22cm. these dogs have a short muzzle, but it is not particularly fluffy so it looks similar to the fox type. They have long thick fur on their head between the ears. However, the coat is generally not very thick and the forelegs are not well-feathered.

The third type is a true Teddy bear face Pomeranian, which meets the modern standard (height 22cm). The dog has a very thick coat. They have a wonderfully long fur between their ears which buries their ears. The muzzle is fluffy which makes it look wide. They have fluffy fur underneath their eyes, the so-called “cheeks”. The forelegs are well-feathered.

The fourth type is a Teddy bear face Pomeranian with a thick coat, but unlike the previous type, this is a very small dog (this girl is 20cm, but they can be even smaller). These dogs can sometimes be referred to as Tea Cup. These dogs are more exclusive or designer. Because of their extremely small size, these dogs can have an exaggerated baby face. These dogs are a true drop of luxury.
